More Whammy Info

When using one of Molten MIDI's custom setting modes, for example the 4th Down>5th up Harmony, Molten MIDI sends a MIDI signal to the Whammy 4 which puts Whammy in the Octave Down>Octave Up setting, then "virtually" sets the position of the expression pedal. It stays in that "virtual" position until you move the expression pedal which will then override the virtual position.

When using one of the sequenced modes, like the arpeggiator [Mode 8], Molten MIDI continually sends a signal which continually overrides the expression pedal (although if you move the pedal quickly you can hear pitch changes in between the arpeggiated notes).

When using Mode 1, which steps you sequentially through Whammy's internal settings, Molten MIDI sets the expression pedal to the "toe up" position.

Just so its clear, you don't need to modify your Whammy 4 to use Molten MIDI, but using Molten MIDI is different than installing Molten Voltage's Pitch Limiter Control mods which actually limit the range of the expression pedal.

More Info Regarding Using Molten MIDI With Other Products

Basically anything that can be done with MIDI can be done with Molten MIDI. The only limitation is the chip memory, so sequencing whole songs is not possible and not what Molten MIDI is designed to do. It's designed to give you a really compact and simple way to control a MIDI device without datawheels, little screens, etc., and for products like the Whammy 4 that can't save presets. It has a 10-position rotary switch that is oriented like a clock, so even on a dark stage its easy to figure out what setting you are using.

Regardless of the MIDI product, as long as we can get the Owner's Manual, we can program a custom chip to trigger presets, unique combinations of effects, or to step through effects in a particular order.
